“I Was Paid 50K to Trail the Late Ong’ondo Were, Bodaboda Rider Reveals
Detectives today arrested the Bodaboda rider who carried the gunman who executed the late Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were.
The detectives attached to the Crime Research Bureau (CRIB) used highly advanced forensic tracing methodology to swoop on the unsuspecting Amos Barasa Kasili at his humble abode in Kibera Darajani area.
Investigations have placed Barasa and his Bajaj Boxer motorbike registration number KMFZ 413W at the tragic scene of the shooting of the legislator on the evening of April 30, 2025 along Ngong/Mbagathi Road.
Following the arrest Barasa is said to have confessed that he was handsomely compensated to track the MP from outside Parliament building to where he met his sad demise and also to provide gateway services from the scene-of-crime.
“I was given KES 50,000 in hard cash and promised a similar amount after the operation,” the suspect is alleged to have told investigation officers.
Barasa will be charged along the main suspects in the ongoing police investigation.
Meanwhile, police have unearthed evidence showing that Barasa is a habitual criminal who masquerades as a Bodaboda operator and often collaborates with armed criminal gangs as a gateway rider.

During the arrest Barasa was found in possession of the incriminating Bajaj Boxer with matching registration. The same motorbike was captured on CCTV footage as the one that trailed the late MPs vehicle from Parliament building to Ngong/Mbagathi Road.
Profiling the suspect also revealed his extensive criminal background, including previous incarceration at Industrial Area Prison, where he encountered some of the hardcore criminals involved in the murder.
Barasa is currently being processed for arraignment as investigations continue, with authorities committed to ensuring that justice is served.
