Former Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi yesterday caused laughter at a mega rally organized by the opposition in Machakos when he questioned Raila Odinga’s generosity in donating five-acres of land in Kisumu for President Ruto’s Affordable Housing Project.
“I want to give you a warning, if you hear anything that William Ruto is pushing and celebrating, know that he is looking after his pockets. Yesterday he said by himself that Raila Odinga has donated five acres, Raila Odinga giving five acres?” he asked incredulously, adding “Which Raila Odinga? And William Ruto because we know you, show us the title deeds of that five acres.” Justin Muturi said amid applause.
The former CS who is the leader of DP Party joined former DP Rigathi Gachagua and Wiper leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka in the biggest single rally the opposition has managed so far.

Chanting slogans of one-term (wantam) the leaders criticized president Ruto for offering a perfunctory apology to the youth of Kenya during the National Prayer Breakfast held at Safari Park Hotel a day earlier.
The president had solemnly and contritely said in Swahili: kama nimekosea naomba msamaha (I apologize if I erred)
“Is abducting our children not an error, detaining them and killing them. Are those not errors. Take your apology to Sugoi,” Muturi said.
He also slammed Deputy President Professor Kithure Kindiki over his empowerment meetings across central Kenya saying they were self-serving and of no significance to the targeted groups .
“The man with a funny voice (mimics) is going around dishing out money, public resources meant for structured development while obviously campaigning for 2027. Bure kabisa!”
Meanwhile, President Ruto entered day-two of his activity-packed tour of Nyanza region by issuing 110 affordable housing units to new home-owners in Homa Bay town .
“This is a clear testament to our commitment to ensuring low-income earners live a dignified life. We are proud that we are fulfilling our promise to Kenyans at the bottom of our social and economic pyramid such as Bodaboda operators and Mama Mboga.”
The segment commissioned was Phase One of the Boma Yangu Homa Bay Housing Estate and a second phase will be implemented soon.
The president also opened the Modern Homa Bay Fish Market that will accommodate more than 400 traders.

The new market presents improved facilities such as clean, safe and adequate spaces, as well as storage facilities like cold rooms to traders.
This will enhance fish supply and distribution, attracting related support services, creating employment hence stimulating the region’s growth.
The president was also in Rangwe for the opening of the sub-County Headquarters before launching the tarmacking of the Nyarach-Nyaburi-Oboke Rangwe road.
Linking Migori and Homa Bay Counties, the 18-Kilometre road will ease access to resources, crucial social services and economic opportunities to the people of Rongo and Rangwe.
He rounded up the day’s activity with an inspection of the Kosiga-Rangwe-Asumbi Water Project in Kagan.
The president broke of shortly to welcome to the country President Nataša Pirc Musar of Slovenia who’s on a State visit to Kenya.
The four-day presidential tour enters day three today when the president hosts leaders from Homabay County at the Homabay State Lodge at 4:30 PM.
