Those who sow the wind, Shall reap the whirlwind — LSK President Warns Politicians
Faith Odhiambo the President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) on Tuesday 24 June sent a terse message to leaders planning to arm youth to infiltrate demonstrations scheduled for Wednesday 25.
Taking to her X handle on the eve of the demonstrations, the LSK President said nothing good has ever come of arming youth militia to accomplish short-term political goals. Quoting examples in history such as Venezuela and Zimbabwe where such militia eventually became unruly and unmanageable to the extent of overthrowing the very regimes who set them up, Odhiambo said Kenya would not want to walk on that path.
In a passionate plea the LSK President appealed to leaders to forego and disband such plans, if indeed they were true, for the benefit of hegemony in the Republic of Kenya.
“Following the media reports by @StandardKenya and @KTNNewsKE over an alleged scheme to deploy hired goons against protestors, the @LawSocietyofKe sounds a stern caution of the potential detrimental impact of radicalizing youth for political expediency. National security is a function of our organs of National Security, which have the exclusive mandate to deal with and respond to any breach of peace or real threat to security. Every criminal insurgency begins with arming of youth and abusing them as agents of political repression, this cannot be the Kenyan story,”said Odhiambo.
The LSK President quoted the Bible verse Hosea 8:7 which says: “Those who sow the wind, Shall reap the whirlwind ”
The Standard Newspaper in a lead frontpage story, Tuesday June 24, exposed a Whatsapp conversation plot by politicians and social media influencers planning to infiltrate the peaceful demonstrations scheduled for Wednesday 25 June 2025.
Unconfirmed reports indicated that clubs manufactured in Nanyuki have already been transported to Nairobi in readiness for the incursion.
