PSC Announces 4000 Internship Vacancies in Lands Ministry

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced 4,000 internship opportunities in the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, under the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development.

In a public notice issued on Tuesday, July 22, PSC invited interested and qualified Kenyans to apply for the opportunities.

The internship vacancies include; Architecture (300) Civil Engineering (200), Construction Management (250), Electrical Engineering (200) Mechanical Engineering (200), Quantity Surveying (200), Structural Engineering (200), Communication and Branding (150) Environment Practitioners (150) Geo-information (50) Health and Safety (180) Interior Design (50) Land Surveying/Geo Spatial (100) Landscape Architecture (100) Realtors (200) and Social Development (165).

Others are; Urban and Regional Planning (150), Digital Marketing (50) Accountants (60) Architectural Assistant (60) Data entry clerks (50) Financial Analysts (30) S/ No Professional Area Positions (23), Building Inspector (60) Inspector Civil Engineering (60) Inspector Electricals (60), Legal (60) Quantity Surveying Assistant (60) Structural Assistant (60) and Supply Chain Management (50).

The Housing and Urban Development Department also announced internship opportunities for Data Analysts (40) Data Science and/or Artificial Intelligence (40) Information Communication Technology (40) Inspector of gas/refrigeration (30) Inspector Plumbing and Drainage (30) Economics (60) Actuarial (5) Human Resource (20) Gender and Development Studies (30) Valuers (100) Property Managers (50) and Property Marketers (50).

To qualify for the internship opportunities, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or diploma in specified disciplines from a recognized university, have graduated not earlier than the year 2018 and be computer literate.

The interns will carry out duties mutually agreed upon and assigned by their supervisors, document the skills acquired in their respective areas of deployment, particularly within the Affordable Housing Programme and marketing project sites across the country and actively participate in mentorship activities and any additional responsibilities designed as part of the programme.

How to apply

Interested and qualified applicants are required to submit their applications online through the Public Service Commission’s job portal, accessible at www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psckjobs.go.ke

Successful applicants will receive a stipend from the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, and the programme will run for 12 months.

“On successful completion of the Internship Programme, the interns will be awarded a certificate by the State Department for Housing and Urban Development,” PSC added.

The deadline for applications is September 6, 2025
