Siaya County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Joseph Ogutu, on Tuesday represented Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo at the ongoing Regional Junior Secondary School Football Games taking place at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium in Siaya.
The tournament features teams drawn from six counties across the region: Siaya, Kisumu, Migori, Homa Bay, Kisii, and Nyamira. The event showcases emerging football talent and promotes unity and healthy competition among junior secondary school students.
Also in attendance were CECM for Tourism and Sports, Hon. Angeline Oduor; CECM for Education, Dr. Edgar Otumba; and Members of the County Assembly led by the host MCA, Hon. James Otare. Other MCAs present included Hon. Rose Rabinya and Hon. Gordon Onguru.
Their presence highlighted the county government’s strong support for youth development through sports and education, and its continued investment in nurturing talent from the grassroots level.
In the thrilling football encounter between Karapul and Kisumu Junior Secondary Schools, the home team emerged winners thrashing Kisumu by a margin of 2—0.
