Residents of Siaya County have expressed growing concern over the continued absence of Governor James Orengo and his deputy, Dr. William Oduol, who have been out of the public spotlight for more than a month.
Their prolonged silence has led to mounting speculation and frustration among locals worried about a potential leadership vacuum in the county.
In response, ODM party leader Raila Odinga sought to allay fears by confirming that Governor Orengo is in good health and expected to resume his duties soon.
While speaking at a funeral service held at Bar Atheng’ Primary School in Ugunja Sub-county, Raila called on residents to remain calm and to refrain from spreading rumors that could stir panic or unrest.
He reassured the public that the county government remains functional and dedicated to fulfilling its responsibilities. His remarks come amid increasing calls from the public for clarity and accountability from their elected leaders.
Raila’s intervention was aimed at restoring public confidence and calming growing concerns about leadership and service delivery in the county.
