Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Bernard Kitur has come forward with serious claims linking a section of Kenya’s security apparatus to a secretive and illegal organ trafficking network. He alleges that the criminal syndicate is operating in plain sight, centered around Mediheal Group of Hospitals in Eldoret.
According to the MP, his life is now in danger because of his efforts to expose the rot within the health sector and security circles. He expressed concern that senior officers, including the Uasin Gishu County Police Commander and the DCI officer, have remained in their posts for over a decade without taking any action.

Kitur suggested that these officers may be actively covering up the illegal activities. He further claimed that the DCI officer currently based in Eldoret was previously stationed in Shakahola, linking both regions to unexplained deaths and possible organ harvesting.
The MP also called out the Senate for what he described as a whitewashed investigation into the Shakahola massacre. He believes that some of the bodies recovered from the area were victims of a broader organ trafficking network that should be probed again.
He first raised these concerns before the National Assembly’s Health Committee in June, calling for a full inquiry into organ harvesting allegations against Mediheal and its founder, former MP Swarup Mishra. Kitur accused the hospital of preying on poor youths, particularly from single-parent families.
According to him, the victims were lured with promises of up to KES 1.2 million in exchange for their organs. However, many of them allegedly received as little as KES 400,000, and their identity cards were confiscated and replaced with fake documentation.
National Police Service spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga responded to the accusations by stating he was unaware of the claims and referred further inquiries to the Regional Commander. Kitur, however, insisted he would not be silenced and vowed to push for renewed investigations and justice for the affected families.
