Siaya Governor James Orengo on Saturday joined Azimio leader Raila Odinga in bidding farewell to H.E. Ambassador Bob Francis Jalang’o Nyanduga, the first Member of Parliament for Rarieda (1988–1992). The funeral service was held at Obaga Village, West Asembo Ward, Rarieda Subcounty, hosted by the current MP, Otiende Amollo.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to revive the blue economy in Siaya, citing active engagements with the National Government to restore beaches such as Asembo Bay, Luanda Kotieno, Misori, Wichlum, and Usenge as vibrant fish landing sites.
The Governor also renewed calls for justice for victims of police brutality.
Other leaders present included Deputy Chief of Staff Eliud Owalo, Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya, Principal Secretary Dr. Ouma Oluga, Siaya County MP Christine Ombaka, and Seme MP James Nyikal, among others.
