JaSkuma’s Vision for Ugenya: A Detailed Roadmap to Inclusive Growth and Lasting Transformation

Vincent Oyugi, affectionately known as JaSkuma, is the embodiment of dynamic, accountable, and community-focused leadership that Ugenya Constituency urgently needs as it heads into the 2027 parliamentary elections. His journey from grassroots organizer to a credible development champion demonstrates why he is best suited to represent and serve the people of Ugenya. His leadership is not built on empty promises but on a foundation of practical achievements and a deep understanding of the socio-economic realities facing his community.

JaSkuma’s commitment to empowering vulnerable groups is one of the defining hallmarks of his leadership. He identified widows as a key demographic in need of targeted support. To this end, he organized widows into officially registered groups—each member receiving a certificate as formal recognition of their status. By creating these groups, JaSkuma provided widows with a platform for mutual support, dignity, and economic engagement. More importantly, he pioneered the introduction of table banking funds to these groups, a grassroots financial model that has revolutionized how widows access capital. Table banking allows members to save collectively, access loans at low or zero interest, and fund small entrepreneurial activities. This form of financial inclusion has empowered widows to become self-reliant, improve their households’ economic conditions, and gain respect within their communities. The model strengthens social cohesion and reduces poverty levels, making it a transformational innovation in Ugenya’s social landscape.

Building on this foundation of community empowerment, JaSkuma established the Ugenya Fresh Community Development SACCO, a financial cooperative that has already become a critical lifeline for many residents. This SACCO addresses the long-standing challenge of financial exclusion in Ugenya by providing accessible savings and loans to individuals and small business owners who lack collateral for traditional banking. The SACCO promotes a culture of saving and entrepreneurship, laying the groundwork for economic growth at the grassroots level. Its continued success under JaSkuma’s leadership attests to his ability to create institutions that deliver sustainable impact.

Education is central to JaSkuma’s vision for Ugenya’s future. He deeply understands that equipping young people with knowledge and skills is the surest path to sustainable socio-economic development. To actualize this belief, he has sponsored school fees for numerous students across the constituency, removing financial barriers that otherwise hinder access to quality education. This intervention nurtures hope and opportunity among families burdened by the high costs of schooling. Beyond basic education, JaSkuma has addressed youth unemployment through vocational training support. By sponsoring youths to attend polytechnics such as the Regional Institute of Agriculture and Technology (RIAT) in Kisumu and Shamberere Technical Institute, he facilitates the acquisition of technical and practical skills that enhance employment prospects. This targeted investment in skills development helps close the gap between education and labor market demands, fostering self-sufficiency and driving economic vitality in Ugenya.

JaSkuma’s leadership extends into the political realm, where his ability to foster unity and shared purpose stands out. His recent orchestration of the ODM delegates luncheon, which gathered party members from all wards within Ugenya, highlights his commitment to political inclusion and collaboration. This event enhanced communication and cohesion within the political spectrum, enabling concerted efforts toward addressing constituency challenges. JaSkuma understands that political unity is vital for effective advocacy and resource mobilization for Ugenya’s development.

Agriculture remains the economic backbone of Ugenya, and JaSkuma’s support for this sector is both practical and impactful. His distribution of sukuma wiki seeds at all polling stations demonstrates an understanding of the critical role that food security and nutrition play in household wellbeing. By empowering farmers with quality seeds, JaSkuma helps boost local food production, improve nutritional standards, and increase household incomes. This approach nurtures self-reliance among farmers and contributes to broader economic stability.

Inclusivity is a core principle in JaSkuma’s leadership philosophy. Beyond empowering widows and youth, he consistently advocates for marginalized groups including people living with disabilities. His commitment to inclusiveness ensures that development initiatives reflect the needs of the entire constituency, promoting equity, dignity, and social harmony. This holistic vision fosters a community in which every resident feels valued and enabled to contribute to progress.

Further, JaSkuma’s development agenda prioritizes improving essential infrastructure and social services. He is dedicated to expanding access to clean, safe water—a fundamental prerequisite for health and economic productivity. Recognizing that robust education and health systems underpin social and economic advancement, JaSkuma supports investments in schools and healthcare facilities. By addressing these basic needs, he lays the groundwork for sustainable improvement in quality of life and long-term growth.

Vincent Oyugi “JaSkuma” is, above all, a leader defined by integrity and accountability. In a political climate often dominated by distrust, he has earned the respect and confidence of his community through transparency and consistent delivery on his commitments. His youthful energy, combined with a mature understanding of governance, positions him as the proactive, responsible, and visionary leader Ugenya requires.

Choosing JaSkuma as Ugenya’s Member of Parliament in 2027 is a decision to embrace inclusive growth, social justice, and enduring development. His proven initiatives addressing education, financial empowerment, agriculture, and political unity reveal a leader ready to translate vision into reality. With JaSkuma at the helm, Ugenya can confidently anticipate a future defined by expanded economic opportunities, reduced inequalities, improved social services, and strengthened community bonds.

This election is more than a contest of political popularity; it is a pivotal moment when Ugenya must select a servant leader whose actions reflect deep care, sound strategy, and effective delivery. Vincent Oyugi “JaSkuma” is that leader—a dedicated champion of transformation who will tirelessly work to uplift every resident of Ugenya.
