In a significant step toward prioritizing worker safety, Siaya County Government has secured official certification as a registered safe workplace under Kenya’s Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007. The Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health Services (DOSHS) issued Certificate No. SYA/0035888/26 on February 11, 2026, valid until February 11, 2027.
The certificate confirms that the county’s main administrative premises—located at Siaya Block/001 along Governor’s Road in Alego Sub-County, Siaya Town—meet national standards for occupational health and safety. As the occupier, Siaya County Government is recognized for its commitment to providing a hazard-free environment in the delivery of county public services.
