The Gem parliamentary contest for 2027 has sharpened into a high-stakes showdown among six clear frontrunners: Kisumu City Manager Michael Abala Wanga, incumbent Elisha Ochieng Odhiambo Akuba, Siaya Woman Representative Dr. Christine Oduor Ombaka, Sam Opot, Booker Ngesa Omole, and Eng. Adrian Ouma. Other contestants, led by Jalang’o Midiwo, Asuna K’Oluoch, Rading Otieno, Dr. Dan Adino, Prof. Isaiah Ndiege, and Prof. Owiti Kakuma, remain in the race but the real momentum has coalesced around the leading pack.
