The County Government of Siaya ( CGS) led by Governor James Orengo has commissioned the Olago Water Project in Nyangoma Division, Bondo Sub-County.
This initiative will provide residents of Central Sakwa, South Sakwa, and parts of North Sakwa wards with a reliable supply of clean water.
Located along the shores of Liunda Beach, the plant promises to breathe new life into the area by offering distilled and treated water at no additional cost to residents. The project brings hope and convenience to the community, ensuring access to safe water for daily use.
Designed to produce 2,500 cubic liters of water, the Ksh.46 million project, executed by DNT Engineers, is expected to be fully operational within six months. Once completed, it will deliver free and safe drinking water to serve the three wards effectively.
The provision of safe, clean, and accessible water for drinking and agricultural use is a key pillar of Governor Orengo’s 9-Point Agenda, as outlined in the Nyalore Manifesto. This initiative underscores his commitment to improving the quality of life for Siaya residents through sustainable development.
