Police Constable James Mukhwana attached to the Central Police Station has been arrested over the murder of Albert Omondi Ojwang.
Officers from the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) of the National Police Service together with investigators pounced on police Constable James Mukhwana yesterday afternoon.
Mukhwana was swiftly moved to Capitol Hill Police Station where he is being processed in readiness to be charged in court with murder.
Even with the arrest, opinion is still divided with an X user posting that Mukhwana could not have ordered the murder.
“PC James Mukhwana had no personal reason to kill Albert Ojwang. The shark remains untouched.
Who gave the order? The one who ordered it will order another one if he’s not arrested. We’re tired of being taken in circles. We want the big fish, not just the hands that pulled the trigger.”
Evidence of CCTV footage tampering also point out at a bigger player in the murder of Ojwang than Mukhwana.
Police Constable James Mukhwana of Central Police Station in Nairobi will now face a charge of brutally murdering 31-year-old teacher Albert Ojwang.
“Please be informed that PC James Mukhwana of Central Police Station Nairobi was arrested today 12/06/2025 and placed in custody at Capitol Hill Police Station by officers from IAU and IPOA and is to be charged with the offence of murder contrary to section 203 as read with Section 204 of the penal code following the death of one Albert Ojwang,” reads a police report.
Meanwhile, unverified reports attributed to the interdicted Central Police Station OCS Samson Talaam say that he has refused to be scapegoated and has said the truth will come out if he is taken to court.
While addressing a parliamentary committee on security DCI boss Amin stated that Talaam should be the prime suspect in the murder of Ojwang.
“It is standard procedure to book a suspect in before admittance to the cells,” Amin had told the committee, adding “the fact that the OCS refused to book the deceased in points at foul play and he should be the held as prime suspect in the investigation.”
Talaam is said to have refused to book in Ojwang because he was brought in by DCI officers badly beaten up and he insisted he be accorded medical attention first.
