Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives on Tuesday raided the home and office of Laikipia County Assembly Speaker Lantano Nabaala over allegations he forged his academic qualifications.
The officers first descended on Nabaala’s official residence in Muthaiga before moving to his Assembly office, where they grilled him for hours. EACC Central Region boss Japheth Baithalu told Citizen Digital the questioning aimed at gathering evidence to substantiate the claims.
The commission said it will issue an official statement on the nature of the investigations.
For the past year, Nabaala has faced accusations of securing the Speaker’s seat using fake academic papers—a matter flagged to the EACC by a section of MCAs.

Nabaala assumed office in September 2022 after winning a second round of voting by 14 out of 21 MCAs, defeating eight other contenders.
