North Ugenya residents have voiced concern over stalled development projects from the 2024/2025 financial year, calling for greater transparency in budget implementation.
The concerns were raised during the 2025/2026 public participation forum held at Nyamsenda Sub-location, where residents cited the incomplete construction of Udira ECD—pending since the 2018/2019 financial year—as a key grievance. Other issues included the quantity of marram used on rural roads, and the quality of water pumps installed in boreholes across the ward.
Ugenya sub-County Administrator, Mr. Vincent Oduor, addressed some of the questions within his mandate and pledged to invite relevant technical experts to the next review meeting scheduled for October this year.
All five sub-Locations in North Ugenya—Sega, Kagonya, Ligala, Jera, and Nyamsenda—presented their priority needs for the 2025/2026 budget, with water supply and road maintenance topping the list.

Also present at the meeting were Mr. Samuel Ouma, Ward Administrator, and Mr. Tobias Aluso, Head of ECD in Ugenya sub-County.
