Siaya roared to life today as the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium hosted a double treat of sport, community, and raw passion in the much-anticipated Bingwafest grand finale.
Governor James Orengo officially flagged off the showdown, describing it as “a celebration of talent, unity, and the promise of sports to transform lives,” as thousands of fans jammed the stands in deafening cheer.
The highlight of the day was the fiery pitch clash between Kisumu’s community giants Kianja FC and TBM Health, who are battling for the historic Ksh 1 million grand prize, proudly sponsored by Betika Community and Bingwafest.
But the action didn’t stop at football. At the sunken pitch of the same venue, Redeem and China Squad locked horns in a viciously contested netball encounter, with China Squad emerging champions and pocketing a staggering Ksh 5 million purse, also courtesy of the tournament sponsors.
Governor Orengo used the twin events to underline his administration’s Nayalore Manifesto, which places sports talent and infrastructure at the center of Siaya’s economic blueprint. “We are nurturing skills that can open doors not just locally, but globally. Sports is not just play; it is an industry, a lifeline for our young people,” he said.

For fans, today marked a watershed moment — a day when Siaya County became the epicenter of grassroots sports excellence, from football artistry on the main pitch to electrifying netball battles at the sunken court.
With drums pounding, vuvuzelas blaring, and teams fighting for both glory and life-changing rewards, one truth stood out: all roads truly led to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium, where Bingwafest turned raw community passion into history.
