‘No Room for Corruption’: Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol Delivers Hard-Hitting Christmas & New Year Message to Kenyans
Spread the love

Siaya Deputy Governor Dr. William Oduol has used his Christmas and New Year message to send warm festive greetings to Kenyans while issuing a firm warning against corruption, reaffirming his political values, and hinting at a major political announcement in the coming year.

In a heartfelt address to residents of Siaya County and Kenyans across the country, Dr. Oduol urged citizens to embrace the festive season as a moment of reflection, renewal, and recommitment to ethical leadership and good governance.

“As we celebrate Christmas with our families and stand at the doorstep of a new year, this is a time to reflect not only on where we have come from, but where we are going as a people,” Oduol said, extending wishes of peace, hope, and renewed purpose.

Zero Tolerance on Corruption
The Deputy Governor struck a firm tone on corruption, declaring that graft has no place in Siaya County. He described corruption as an enemy of development, a betrayal of public trust, and a threat to the future of the next generation.

The fallout between Dr. William Oduol and his boss James Orengo in 2024 was based on accusations of corruption and poor governance

“Let me be clear and unequivocal: there is no place for corruption in Siaya County,” he stated. “Public resources must serve the public good, not individual greed. Accountability, transparency, and good governance are non-negotiable.”

Dr. Oduol reiterated his unwavering commitment to fighting corruption and promoting ethical leadership, emphasizing that leadership must listen, serve, and protect the dignity and welfare of every citizen.

ODM Loyalty and Raila Odinga Legacy
In a strong political statement, Oduol reaffirmed Siaya County’s long-standing allegiance to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), describing it as the party of choice rooted in democracy, social justice, equality, and people-centered leadership.

He paid glowing tribute to the departed ODM Party leader Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, praising his legacy of sacrifice, courage, and commitment to the Kenyan people.

“The legacy of Raila Odinga must be respected, protected, and perpetuated—not abandoned,” Oduol said, noting that it continues to inspire Kenyans to stand on the right side of history.

Political Signal for the New Year
Looking ahead, the Deputy Governor hinted at an upcoming political declaration, revealing that the new year would mark a critical moment of engagement and direction.

“In due course, I will unveil my political stand, guided by the voices, hopes, and aspirations of the people of Siaya,” he said, adding that any future path would be anchored on integrity, unity, and genuine transformation.

Message of Hope and Unity
As the year comes to a close, Dr. Oduol called on Kenyans to reject corruption in all its forms, renew faith in one another, and work collectively toward building a county and country that works for everyone.

He concluded by wishing families peace during Christmas and expressing hope for a new year defined by bold leadership, honest governance, and shared prosperity.

Coincidentally Dr William Oduol also marked his birthday anniversary today.

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year,
Dr. William Oduol, PhD
Deputy Governor, Siaya County
