Ruto’s UDA Sweeps ALL By-Elections in Crushing Victory: Isiolo South MP, Mbeere North MCAs & Kakamega Ward Fall to Ruling Party

President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) delivers a clean sweep, winning every seat in Thursday’s high-stakes by-elections and sending a powerful message of dominance ahead of 2027.

In a stunning display of political muscle, President Dr. William Samoei Ruto’s UDA party has clinched all four contested seats in the February 26, 2026, mini-polls across Isiolo, Embu, and Kakamega counties. The victories in Isiolo South Constituency (MP), Evurore Ward (MCA, Mbeere North), Muminji Ward (MCA, Mbeere North), and West Kabras Ward (MCA, Kakamega) underscore UDA’s unbreakable grip on the grassroots and the electorate’s resounding endorsement of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

UDA officials and party loyalists hailed the results as a “total rout” of the United Opposition, with jubilant announcements flooding social media within hours of polls closing. “UDA ni faya! From third to first world,” declared prominent strategist Dennis Itumbi, capturing the mood as the ruling party turned potential flashpoints into a masterclass in organization and voter mobilization.

The marquee race in Isiolo South saw UDA candidate Hon. Tubi Mohamed Tubi — son of the late MP Mohamed Tubi Bidu, who passed away in November 2025 — cruise to a resounding victory. Facing his sister, Bina Mohamed Tubi of Jubilee, in a dramatic sibling showdown framed as a proxy battle between Ruto and former President Uhuru Kenyatta, Tubi Jnr delivered a decisive win. The seat, vacant after the elder Tubi’s death, now stays firmly in UDA hands, reinforcing the party’s growing influence in northern Kenya.

In Embu County’s Mbeere North Constituency, UDA reclaimed both vacant MCA seats with ease. Duncan Muratia Nyaga (Mukang’u Jnr) triumphed in Evurore Ward, while Peterson Njeru Njiru (Weche) claimed Muminji Ward. The positions fell vacant after the previous MCAs — Duncan Mbui (Evurore) and Newton Kariuki (Muminji) — resigned to contest the November 2025 Mbeere North parliamentary by-election, only to lose to current MP Leonard Wamuthende (UDA). Today’s results mark a emphatic homecoming for the ruling party in the region.

In Kakamega’s Malava Constituency, Hon. Elphas Shalakha (Kainanga) secured the West Kabras MCA seat for UDA amid reports of low turnout and isolated violence claims. The ward became vacant after former MCA David Ndakwa ascended to the Malava parliamentary seat. Shalakha’s win extends UDA’s stronghold in Western Kenya, brushing aside opposition challenges.

Despite IEBC-reported low voter turnout and minor incidents — including goon allegations in West Kabras and the sibling drama in Isiolo — UDA’s machinery proved unstoppable. Party insiders credit tight coordination, door-to-door campaigns led by heavyweights like Farouk Kibet, and unwavering focus on development and service delivery.

Political analysts say the clean sweep is more than a by-election footnote: it is a strategic booster for President Ruto as Kenya gears up for the 2027 General Election. With UDA now boasting an enviable by-election record, the message to fragmented opposition forces is clear — the ruling party is organized, united, and unbeatable at the ballot.

“The people have chosen focused leadership,” noted UDA sources in victory statements. “This is momentum we are carrying all the way to 2027.”

As official IEBC tallies are finalized, one fact stands undisputed: Ruto and UDA have won all the seats in these by-elections — a perfect score that will echo across Kenya’s political landscape.
