Siaya County is set for a major digital upgrade. Communication and ICT teams begin a five-day intensive workshop tomorrow Monday 16th at Victoria Comfort Hotel to transform the county’s official website into a faster, more accessible, and user-friendly platform for residents.
The Joint County Website Review and Implementation Workshop (March 16–20, 2025) brings together editors, designers, broadcasters, ICT experts, and top management to fix content gaps, improve navigation, boost mobile performance, and integrate vital services.
Leading the charge are heavyweights including Governance, Administration and ICT CECM Agunda Ochanda, who opens proceedings; Siaya Public Service Board (PSB) CEO Wilfred Ouma Nyagudi, linking the site to recruitment and HR portals; and Chief Officer Walter Okelo, who will deliver closing remarks and oversee final testing.
Over the week, teams will:
– Scrutinize every page for factual accuracy, clear images, and consistent messaging
– Revamp design and layout for better readability, visual balance, and accessibility
– Test navigation, loading speed, and responsiveness across phones, tablets, and desktops
– Optimize SEO with natural keywords and strengthen internal/external links
– Seamlessly connect the main site to PSB services and Siaya-Bondo Water and Sanitation Company (SIBOWASCO) for one-stop citizen access
– Ensure full compliance with screen-reader standards and county digital guidelines
Hands-on user-journey reviews, plenary discussions, and a high-level panel on service delivery will keep the focus sharp on real impact for Siaya residents.

The current county website (siaya.go.ke) already serves as the hub for tenders, news, notices, and the online portal. This workshop aims to take it to the next level – faster, more intuitive, and fully integrated with key public utilities matching in layout, and if possible outshining, the privately-owned local market leader siayatoday.com
“This is about delivering smarter, transparent governance,” said senior facilitators. The upgraded platform will make it easier for citizens to access essential services, from water billing to job opportunities and county updates, right from their phones.

By Friday, the team expects to roll out a refreshed, high-performing website that positions Siaya County as a leader in Kenya’s digital public service revolution.
The workshop marks a clear commitment: better online services mean better lives for the people of Siaya.
