Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili popularly known as Babu Owino was among 609 lawyers formally admitted to the Roll of Advocates today.
Shortly afterwards the fiery, youthful legislator shared a message on his social media handles claiming the day was a huge milestone in his life.
“Today marks a historic chapter in my journey-my admission to the bar as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya,” he said.
Chief Justice Martha Koome presided over the ceremony at the Supreme Court of Kenya.

“Welcome to the Bar new advocates being sworn in today! Congratulations to your parents, guardians and teachers. Go forth and serve with excellence. Identify your relative/friend on the list, give them a shout out here and help us celebrate them,” the Judiciary posted on the official handle.
Babu Owino explained the significance of today’s achievement saying he has four degrees representative of each member of his family.

“We were so poor as we grew up that my parents could not take all of us to school. It was decided that one of us lift the family diadem in education and I was the one selected. The Actuarial Science First Class Honours was for my mother, then after that I did a Master’s in Architectural Science for my sister, then after that I did LLB Law degree for my brother, then Masters in Law for myself,” the legislator explained.
Babu Owino who has the goodwill of most Nairobi youth is said to be gunning for the position of Governor in the forthcoming elections.
