Siaya residents have one week to submit memoranda and influence the county’s development priorities for the coming financial year.
Siaya, Kenya – The County Assembly of Siaya has officially opened public participation on the proposed Siaya County Annual Development Plan (CADP) for 2026/2027, giving citizens until Friday, January 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. to submit written memoranda.
In a notice issued by Clerk of the County Assembly Eric Ogenga, the Assembly emphasized compliance with the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, which requires the County Executive to submit the development plan by September 1 each year and mandates public involvement in the approval process.
The move fulfills Article 196(1)(b) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, which guarantees public participation in county legislative processes, particularly those affecting budget and planning.
Residents, stakeholders, and interested parties are invited to review the proposed CADP and submit their views to the County Assembly Committee on Budget and Appropriations.
