In a viral Facebook post that has sent shockwaves across Siaya County, a bold local youth has publicly applied for the high-paying County Information Management Officer position just days after the dramatic sacking of Makamu wa Makamu.

Ouma Steven Onyango didn’t hold back. Titled “COMPLEX JOB, HIGH SALARIES, LITTLE BRAINS,” his explosive post tears into the sacked official while staking his own claim to the lucrative role.
“The County Information Management Officer is a complex job for the brain of a mere Makamu Wa Makamu who cannot even speak English for two minutes straight,” Onyango wrote.
He listed the demanding responsibilities of the position – Data Systems Management, Data Quality Control, Reporting and Analysis, Information Security, Knowledge Management, Policy and Compliance – and declared them far beyond the sacked official’s capabilities.

“These roles are too complex for a Class Seven dropout like Makamu Wa Makamu who lacks the skills that matter: Data Management, Analytical skills, Records handling, ICT basics and strong organization,” he stated.
Onyango, who describes himself as a trained Communication and Administration expert, then made his move crystal clear:
“I, Ouma Steven Onyango… will after seven days upon expiry of this letter present my papers to Siaya County Government for immediate absorption and replacement for this job that Makamu has to lose since he is not qualified.”
He backed his application with years of unpaid loyalty to Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo, revealing he worked voluntarily for the governor since his Senate days, alongside Victor Marende and PA Fred Owuor Ojode.
“Orengo must reward me after using me voluntarily for years,” he demanded. “There is no taking chances. Let me be informed when I can start working or be oriented, for Makamu Wa Makamu is outrightly disqualified.”
The fiery post has ignited fierce debate on social media, with many Siaya residents praising the youth’s confidence while others question the unusual public application method.

As the seven-day countdown begins, all eyes are now on Governor Orengo’s office: Will Siaya’s most talked-about job applicant get the call, or will the bold Facebook move backfire?
The vacancy left by Makamu wa Makamu’s sacking has suddenly become the hottest topic in Siaya – and one ambitious youth is determined to fill it.
