Kenya Police FC are the 2024/2025 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League champions for the 1st time in the club’s history since earning a promotion in 2021 from the National Super League.
Police FC wrapped up their maiden league title after beating Shabana FC by a solitary goal in the Round 33 match at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday evening.
Brain Okoth’s goal in the 75th minute was enough to seal Premier League victory in the penultimate match.
Outgoing champions Gor Mahia relinquished their title despite their 3-2 victory over Ulinzi Stars.
Police lead the table with 64 points as they head into their next weekend’s final match against 2nd placed Gor Mahia, who are on 58 points.
Kakamega Homeboyz moved up to 3rd place after a 1-0 win over Bidco United.

With only one game in hand the best Gor’s arch-rivals AFC Leopards can hope for in this year’s league is to finish at position six ahead of Sofapaka, Bandari, KCB and Mathare United.
The other teams in the top five are Shabana, Tusker and Kakamega Homeboyz in descending order.
Meanwhile, the new FKF Premier League management has vowed to uphold football standards in the country.
“Strengthening our league requires collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement. These discussions are crucial in driving Kenyan football forward,” said FKF President Hussein Mohammed.
Mohammed and Vice President McDonald Mariga have struck a good working relationship and so far there has not been the usual controversy that marred football outcomes at the end of the League.
A recent meeting they held together with stakeholders at Kandanda House in Nairobi focused on key areas, including sponsorship, officiating, club licensing, and the overall structure of the Premier League competition.
Concerning League Sponsorship & Awards FKF confirmed ongoing discussions with potential sponsors, with updates to be provided in due course.
On the issue of the 2024-25 Season Calendar it was agreed that to allow proper planning for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in August, the FKF Premier League season will conclude by 31 May. (It has overlapped by a few weeks).
About the matter of Officiating & Match-Fixing Legislation it was agreed to improve officiating and security standards as a top priority. FKF outlined plans to enhance referee capacity building through training programs and announced the fast-tracking of a draft bill to tackle match-fixing, with a draft expected in two months.
In matters League Management & Club Licensing, clubs agreed to hold structured consultative meetings every two months to address league management and governance. Additionally, the ongoing club licensing review will include workshops to support compliance and ensure all teams meet the required standards.
