We, the editorial team and management of SiayaToday.com Digital Magazine, wish to offer our sincere and unreserved apology to the family of Mr. Alphonse Ochieng Musumba, a respected businessman in Siaya County.
In a recent article published on our platform, we erroneously implicated Mr. Musumba and members of his family in the matter concerning the blocking of Transcounty Shuttles Limited from operating in Siaya town. We have since perused all court documents relating to the case, as provided by Mr. Kevin Ochieng, and interviewed officers from the Siaya County Government who are conversant with the matter. Based on this thorough review, we are fully convinced that our reporter based in Siaya, Mr. Noel Anyumba Nyakwaka, erred in his surmisation and reporting.

We deeply regret the distress, reputational damage, and emotional anguish caused to Mr. Musumba’s family, friends, and associates due to this publication. The article in question has been retracted from our platform, and internal editorial reviews are underway to prevent such lapses from recurring.
This apology is issued freely and voluntarily, under no duress, and represents our full acknowledgment of the harm caused and our commitment to journalistic integrity. We unreservedly retract any and all allegations or insinuations made against Mr. Alphonse Ochieng Musumba and his family.
We extend our deepest apologies to Mr. Musumba’s family and appreciate the grace with which they have handled this matter.
Sincerely,
Editorial Board
