Police in Kisumu East Sub-County have arrested a key suspect believed to be part of a notorious criminal gang that had terrorized residents of Kisumu City and its environs, recovering a cache of stolen property in a decisive intelligence-led operation.
Officers based at Gita Police Station nabbed James Kenneth Otieno following days of intensified pursuit of a gang linked to a series of robberies targeting members of the public. The crackdown gained urgency after one of Otieno’s alleged accomplices, Hussein Hassan, was lynched by a mob on January 23, 2026, after he was cornered while in possession of a stolen motorcycle.
