PS Omollo Declares Zero Tolerance: Political Hooligans and Goons Face Arrests Over Rally Chaos
**Interior PS vows swift arrests and prosecution as violence mars opposition events ahead of heated 2027 polls**
**NYERI, March 1, 2026** – Enough is enough. Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has fired a blunt warning to political operators: Deploy hooligans and goons to spark chaos at rallies and you will be arrested and prosecuted.
Speaking during an official visit to Rutune School in Nyeri County, PS Omollo drew a hard line against the rising wave of political thuggery, declaring zero tolerance for disorder that has already claimed lives.
“This administration reaffirms its position that hooliganism and disorder will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and security agencies remain vigilant in ensuring accountability and maintaining public order,” he stated firmly.
The tough message lands as Kenya drifts into the volatile 2027 election campaign season. Recent opposition rallies have turned ugly: violent clashes at Linda Mwananchi events in Kitengela and Mbale, plus chaos during the United Opposition tour in the Gusii region, left at least two people dead and several injured.
Omollo made it clear that those mobilizing or inciting violence will face the full weight of the law.
He also hit back at Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, who last week accused him of commanding goon squads. “I don’t participate or engage in such. The characters know what they are talking about. If they are law-abiding, they know what should happen,” Omollo fired back.
The PS was joined by Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga and Energy PS Alex Wachira.
While addressing the rally violence, Omollo took time to commend Nyeri County for posting a stellar 99 per cent transition rate from primary to junior secondary school, urging continued community engagement to sustain the gains.
With political temperatures rising nationwide, analysts say Omollo’s zero-tolerance stance sends a strong signal: the government will not allow hired thugs to hijack public rallies or derail Kenya’s democratic process.
Security agencies have been placed on high alert. Political leaders and their mobilizers have been put on notice — play clean or face the consequences.
The message is loud and clear: No more havoc. No more goons. No more excuses.
