ADVERTSiaya County Assembly Speaker George Okode yesterday received the selection panel mandated to interview and identify suitable candidates for two key positions in the county administration — County Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Siaya County Public Service Board (CPSB).
The development follows an outstanding vetting exercise that was widely lauded as free, fair, transparent and independent, of CECM Finance Mr. Dan Ochieng Okoth setting the stage for the next phase of the recruitment process.
The selection panel is expected to undertake interviews aimed at identifying candidates with the requisite qualifications, experience, integrity and leadership capacity to serve in the two strategically important offices.
The County Secretary serves as the head of the county public service and plays a central role in coordinating county government operations and implementation of executive decisions. The CPSB CEO, meanwhile, is critical to the effective administration of the county’s human-resource and public-service functions.
Receiving the panel, Speaker Okode underscored the importance of ensuring that the recruitment process upholds merit, professionalism, transparency and accountability.
