Siaya County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Mr. Joseph Ogutu, this evening received a courtesy call from the newly deployed Administration Police Commandant for Siaya Sub-county, Mr Christopher Nyainda.
Mr Nyainda, who previously served in Nairobi County, brings with him a wealth of experience in community policing, public safety, and inter-agency coordination.
During their meeting, they explored areas of collaboration between the County Government and the Administration Police Service to enhance security, particularly at the grassroots level.
Mr. Ogutu welcomed Mr Nyainda to Siaya on behalf of Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo and assured him of the County’s full support in promoting a safe and secure environment for all residents.
Incidences of insecurity in Siaya are on the rise with Gem sub-County reporting the murder of six women within a relatively short time.
Barely five days ago a police officer was gruesomely murdered and his body dumped along the road leading to Luanda K’Otieno in Rarieda Constituency.
The body was moved to Lwak Mission Hospital Mortuary, and the subsequent postmortem examination revealed the officer was hacked to death.
Although investigations are ongoing incidents of homicides where law enforcers are the victims have been on the rise countrywide.
