At least seven people have died after a Nailepu Sacco matatu collided head-on with a lorry along the Namanga–Isinya Highway at Korompoi Global Estate, near Kitengela, on Saturday morning.
Isinya Sub-County Police Commander Simon Lomitari said the 9 a.m. crash occurred when the matatu, travelling from Kajiado to Kitengela, attempted to overtake and rammed into the oncoming lorry from Kitengela.
“We lost seven people—three men and four women. Their bodies have been moved to Saitoti Hospital mortuary,” Lomitari confirmed. Survivors were rushed to various hospitals within Isinya Sub-County, with locals assisting police in rescue operations.
The collision comes amid a deadly 72 hours on Kenyan roads:

Thursday, Aug 7 – Nine Kenya Pipeline staff were killed when their company bus was struck by a cargo train at Morendat junction, Naivasha.
Police have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution, especially on highways and known accident-prone areas.
