Police in Migori County have arrested a 35-year-old man accused of killing his friend during a dispute over Ksh. 250 at Kadera-Kuoyo village in Awendo Sub-County.
The suspect, identified as Milton Onyango Omuga, was apprehended after the body of the deceased, Tyson Ongacho (30), was discovered within their homestead.
According to Kadera-Kuoyo location acting Chief, Vincent Omondi, the incident was reported by the suspect’s father, Elijah Omuga, who found Ongacho’s body lying in his compound.
Chief Omondi said he managed to detain the suspect and hand him over to police officers despite attempts by irate residents to lynch him. In retaliation, angry villagers stormed the suspect’s homestead, torching two houses and destroying property.

While the exact cause of death is yet to be established, preliminary investigations suggest the two engaged in a violent fight stemming from a dispute over Ksh. 250.
