Morocco are kings of Africa once again after a pulsating 3-2 win over Madagascar in the CHAN 2024 final at a rocking Kasarani Stadium on Saturday night.
The Atlas Lions had to dig deep after a nightmare start when Félicité Mantasoa stunned them with a ninth-minute strike to fire the islanders ahead.

But Morocco’s class showed. Youssef Mehri coolly levelled on 27 minutes before Oussama Lamlioui turned the tie on its head with a razor-sharp finish just before the break.
Madagascar, roared on by a noisy contingent of fans, weren’t done. Toky Rakotondraibe pounced on 68 minutes to make it 2-2 and set up a frantic finale.
But it was Lamlioui again who stole the show. The forward bagged his brace in the 80th minute, sparking wild celebrations as Morocco sealed their third CHAN crown.
Heartbreak for Madagascar, ecstasy for Morocco — a final that had everything: shocks, comebacks, and a thunderous winner to crown the continent’s kings.
