Police in Nambale, Busia County, have arrested a suspect and seized six kilograms of cannabis sativa in a major drug bust along the Nambale–Mumias Road.
The operation, carried out by officers from Nambale Police Station on Monday, led to the interception of the suspect at a roadblock. According to authorities, the recovered narcotics have an estimated street value of Ksh. 180,000 and have been secured as evidence.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to combating the sale and distribution of illegal substances across the country.
“The National Police Service remains steadfast in the fight against narcotics and illicit brews,” read part of the statement. “We urge members of the public to continue supporting this effort by sharing timely information with law enforcement agencies.”
