Nairobi, August 8, 2025 —
The Social Health Authority (SHA) has suspended a total of 40 health facilities across the country over alleged involvement in fraudulent activities aimed at defrauding the Authority.
In a Gazette Notice released by SHA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mercy Mwangangi on Friday, the authority confirmed that these facilities will be ineligible for any benefits or reimbursements from SHA during the suspension period.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 48 (6) of the Social Health Insurance Act, 2023, the Social Health Authority gives notice to the public of the suspension of the health facilities set out in the Schedule below,” read part of the notice.
