Cleric on a Mission: Dr. Maurice Abiero Makes Bold Unity Pitch at Raila’s Resting Place Ahead of 2027 Battle

Bondo, Kenya — In a powerful display of unity and political intent, Dr. Maurice Abiero Awuora today led a distinguished delegation of clergy from Nyandarua, Laikipia, and Nakuru to the sacred grounds of Kan’go Kajaramogi in Bondo, where they paid respects at the grave of the late Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga. The delegation condoled with the Odinga family, laid a wreath, and later proceeded to Opoda Farm, marking a symbolic journey of peace, reconciliation, and national cohesion.

Speaking after the solemn visit, Dr. Abiero — who has openly set his sights on the Bondo Parliamentary seat in 2027 — said the pilgrimage was more than a courtesy call. It was a statement of unity, a bridge-building mission, and a reaffirmation of his commitment to peaceful coexistence across communities.

“Promoting cohesion, unity, and peace among our communities and others across Kenya is at the heart of my campaign agenda,” he said.
“Bondo is home not only to the Luo community but to many tribes. Meaningful socio-economic development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.”

Dr. Abiero emphasized that fostering intercommunity harmony is not merely a moral obligation but a political necessity for sustained growth. He noted that regions prosper when leaders forge partnerships at the national level and champion cooperation in Parliament.

Besides his clerical mission, Dr. Maurice Abiero Awuora is actively engaged in research under the Institute of Faith and Gender Empowerment (IFAGE)

“Forging strong alliances in the National Assembly is key to passing crucial Bills that spur development,” he added.
“This is something I am fully committed to once elected.”

Observers say today’s visit was both deeply symbolic and politically strategic, signalling Dr. Abiero’s intention to position himself as a unifier, a bridge between regions, and a champion of inclusive development at a time when Kenya’s political landscape is increasingly shaped by calls for national cohesion.

As 2027 approaches, Dr. Abiero’s message is unmistakable: Bondo’s future will be built on unity — and he wants to lead that charge.
