The Nyalore administration has intensified its push for efficient and equitable service delivery, unveiling a renewed strategy anchored on stronger sub-county coordination and grassroots engagement.

In a high-level stakeholders’ forum held in Bondo Town, the Department of Governance, Administration, and ICT rallied local leaders, national government representatives, and private sector players under the theme “Working Together for Effective Service Delivery, Integrity, and Citizen-Centered Governance.”

The meeting signaled a decisive shift toward a more integrated governance model designed to eliminate bureaucratic overlaps, enhance accountability, and bring services closer to the people.

At the heart of the discussions was the urgent need to streamline service delivery at the sub-county level, ensuring residents can access government services without delays or confusion over institutional roles.

Stakeholders drawn from key sectors—including security, public health, agriculture, education, and administration—underscored the importance of coordinated planning and execution across all levels of government.

The forum resolved to accelerate the establishment of village administrators across all wards in Siaya County, a move expected to deepen grassroots outreach and improve implementation of development programmes.

Presiding over the session, Director of Governance George Okello emphasized the critical role of ethical leadership in public service, urging officials to uphold the principles enshrined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

He challenged administrators to translate integrity from policy into practice, warning that accountability remains the backbone of effective governance.

The forum also benefited from insights by Bondo Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti, who highlighted key legal frameworks affecting residents, including reporting mechanisms for gender-based violence and the importance of proper succession planning in land and asset management.

His remarks reinforced the need for stronger collaboration between administrative and judicial systems to protect vulnerable groups and uphold justice at the community level.

Bondo Sub-County leadership, led by Vincent Kanyang’onda, reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with county officials to enhance service delivery outcomes.

Participants agreed that sustained engagement between county and sub-county administrations will be vital in ensuring that development initiatives are inclusive, transparent, and responsive to citizens’ needs.

As Siaya sharpens its governance framework, the renewed focus on coordination and integrity could prove pivotal in bridging service delivery gaps and driving meaningful development across the county.
