Governor James Orengo has today presided over the construction of an inpatient complex for both Urenga Health Centre and Bar Ndege Health Centre in East Ugenya Ward.
The facility will feature a two-storey building with a ground floor, first floor, and second floor. Once fully completed, it will ensure universal health is elevated to higher levels and curative health services are made possible.
The magnificent facility, once completed, will have salient features such as a sluice room, female changing room, isolation cubes, a special verandah with a ramp for the disabled, male ward, store, recovery room, scrubbing area, theatre, receiving areas and lobby, control room, x-ray, ultrasound, meeting rooms, reception, and a rooftop for security reasons.
Tentatively, it will also have important amenities such as ample stores and a spacious administration office.

In undertaking the construction of these maiden health facilities, the Nyalore Administration under James Orengo seeks to fulfill key components of the Governor’s Nyalore Manifesto by ensuring universal healthcare access as envisaged in the County Integrated Development Plans.
Governor James Orengo, in fulfilling his mandate, also aims to ensure developments are evenly distributed among the six sub-counties of Siaya. “It is my hope that this service will be a milestone in inpatients, admissions, and improvements, as well as address the needs for curative help for the people of Bar Ndege, Urenga, and the County as a whole,” said Governor Orengo, who has always fought gallantly for devolution and equity.
He also pledged additional professional services to boost operations at the facilities.
