Karapul Villa Football Club, the only side from Siaya County competing in the FKF Division Two League, has been handed a fresh lifeline ahead of the 2025/2026 season after Air Force Colonel Madam Veronica Owuor made a significant donation to the team.
The launch of the new kits was held last Sunday at Karapul Primary School, where fans and community members gathered to celebrate. According to Club Chairman Robert Ouma, the colonel’s package included two full sets of uniforms, tracksuits for all officials, soccer boots, and additional training kits. “She has been like a parent to us since our promotion to Division Two. Her generosity puts us in the best position to kick off the league strongly,” Ouma told supporters during the launch.
The League Chairman, in a message of goodwill, praised the resilience of Karapul Villa, noting that as the only Division Two side from Siaya, the club carried the pride and hopes of an entire county. “Karapul Villa is flying Siaya’s flag in the national leagues. Their success will be Siaya’s success, and they deserve the community’s full support,” he remarked.
The club has also received backing from other quarters. The CEO of the Kenya Academy of Sports, Dr. Doreen Odhiambo, herself a native of Siaya, sent ten new balls to the team. In addition, the FKF NEC Chairman for North Rift, Mr. Peter Kamau “Kaskas,” donated two more balls, further boosting the squad’s preparations. “These gestures show that people genuinely love and believe in us,” Ouma said, expressing gratitude to all well-wishers who have stood with the club.
Still, challenges remain. The chairman explained that the team faces a looming October 13 deadline to meet all financial obligations required by the FKF to participate in Division Two. He revealed that players sometimes travel up to 100 kilometers to honour fixtures without food, underscoring the difficult circumstances under which the team operates.
As Karapul Villa gears up for a demanding season, the chairman closed his appeal with a heartfelt note: “Karapul Villa FC is a community club, and we depend entirely on well-wishers to survive in the league. Anyone who feels moved to support us can kindly channel their assistance through the club’s manager, Mr. Robert Ouma, on 0748519262.”
With new kits, renewed morale, and unwavering community spirit, Karapul Villa is determined to march into the new season carrying not just their own dreams, but the aspirations of Siaya County as a whole.
