Siaya, September 29, 2025 — The Nyanza leg of the BingwaFest, powered by Betika, came to a thrilling close at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium, Siaya, yesterday with TBM Health FC and Kolwa Falcons lifting the men’s and women’s football titles.

The tournament, which has grown into one of Kenya’s most vibrant grassroots sporting festivals, saw teams compete not only for glory but also for life-changing rewards courtesy of Betika’s continued investment in local talent.

Kolwa Falcons delivered a stunning comeback to beat Thrive Sports Kenya 2-1 in the women’s final, while TBM Health stamped their authority with a 4-0 rout of Kianja Allstars in the men’s showdown. Each champion team walked away with KSh1 million, a testament to Betika’s commitment to rewarding excellence.

It was not just football. In rugby, Kisumu Development toppled Kisii University 12-8 in a tense men’s final as Nyagichencha crushed Sidindi 31-0 in the women’s category. Basketball’s 3×3 format added a fast-paced twist, with China Squad and Dream Team claiming top honours. Athletics too lit up the arena, with Miriam Chebet sealing her place as Nyanza’s queen of the track after victories in both the 5,000m and 10,000m races.

Across all disciplines, Betika awarded winners, runners-up, and third-place finishers with millions in prize money, underlining its role as the biggest supporter of grassroots sports in the country.

Betika Head of Brand Eric Mwiti said the sponsorship goes beyond the field of play:

“We are happy to come back to Siaya, a county that hosted our very first national athletics finals. BingwaFest is not just about the players; it is about uplifting entire communities. The excitement we have seen here proves the power of sports to transform lives.”

The Nyanza showdown now sets the pace for the Eastern leg of BingwaFest, which will be held in Machakos from October 13 to 19 as the journey towards the national finals continues.
