Nairobi, September 29, 2025 — The Kenya Editors Guild (KEG) has ushered in a new era of leadership with the appointment of Linda Bach as its Chief Executive Officer, effective October 16.
The announcement was made Monday by KEG President Zubeidah Koome, who hailed Bach’s elevation as a significant step for the Guild’s growth.
“Linda brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, and we are confident her leadership will propel KEG into its next chapter,” said Koome.
Bach, a seasoned media professional and long-serving member of KEG’s Executive Council, takes over from Rosalia Omungo, who has steered the Guild for the past eight years. Koome paid glowing tribute to Omungo, praising her for “a sterling role in steering KEG with distinction” and wished her well in future endeavors.
Executive Council Shake-Up
Bach’s appointment triggered a realignment within the Executive Council in line with KEG’s constitution.

Millicent Awuor has been named chairperson of the Programmes Committee, a docket Bach previously chaired.
