President William Ruto has congratulated Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan on her re-election following the general election held on October 29, 2025.
In an official statement issued on Sunday, President Ruto extended his felicitations on behalf of the Government and people of Kenya, commending President Samia for securing another mandate to lead the United Republic of Tanzania.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Kenya, and on my own behalf, I extend sincere congratulations to Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan on her re-election in the General Election held on 29 October 2025,” the statement read in part.
President Ruto reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Tanzania, underscoring the two nations’ shared history, economic cooperation, and regional integration through the East African Community (EAC).

“Kenya and Tanzania share deep historical ties and common aspirations for the prosperity and stability of our peoples, anchored in our shared history and our joint membership in the East African Community,” he said.
The Kenyan Head of State also called on Tanzanians to uphold peace and the rule of law during the post-election period, urging all political actors to embrace dialogue and tolerance.
“I call upon the patriotic people of Tanzania to uphold peace and the rule of law, and I encourage all political actors and stakeholders to embrace dialogue and tolerance as they seek to resolve any issues at hand in order to safeguard democracy and stability,” he urged.
President Ruto reiterated Kenya’s readiness to continue working closely with Tanzania in pursuit of regional stability and economic growth, adding that the two countries are bound by a shared vision for a peaceful and prosperous East Africa.
“Kenya stands ready to continue engaging constructively in the pursuit of our shared vision for a peaceful, prosperous, and integrated East Africa,” he affirmed.
President Samia’s re-election extends her leadership since assuming office in 2021, and her government has emphasized continuity, economic transformation, and regional cooperation.
The message from President Ruto reinforces Kenya’s position as a key partner in promoting unity and democratic governance within the East African bloc.
