The KPC Foundation has donated a 52-seater school bus to St. Paul II Chepterwai Girls Senior School in a move aimed at improving access to education and enhancing student mobility for academic and co-curricular activities.
Speaking during the handover ceremony held at the school in Nandi County, KPC Foundation Director Joyce Emanikor said the donation reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to empowering communities through education.
“The handover of this school bus is not merely about transportation; it is about opening doors to opportunity, enhancing access to learning, and investing in the future of our young people,” said Ms. Emanikor.
She noted that education remains one of the most powerful and sustainable tools for transforming lives and building stronger communities, adding that every investment made in a child’s education is an investment in the country’s future.
The KPC Foundation, the Corporate Social Investment arm of Kenya Pipeline Company PLC, implements programmes under four key thematic pillars: education, health, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment.
Under the education pillar, the Foundation supports scholarships for students with disabilities through the Inuka Programme, infrastructure development, provision of learning materials, and initiatives aimed at improving access to quality education across the country.
The newly donated bus is expected to ease transportation challenges for students and teachers during academic trips, educational exchanges, and co-curricular engagements, while also improving safety and comfort.
The school administration also indicated that the bus will be utilized as an income-generating asset through community hire services, a move lauded by the Foundation as a demonstration of sustainability and prudent resource management.
