A fresh political storm is gathering in Siaya County with renewed efforts to impeach Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo now reportedly gaining momentum behind the scenes amid claims of secret political financing and intense lobbying within the County Assembly.
Insiders familiar with the unfolding intrigue allege that several Members of the County Assembly and influential figures within the assembly leadership are being offered incentives from undisclosed sources to support a new push aimed at removing the veteran opposition politician from office.
At the center of the unfolding drama stands one man: George Okode.
The Speaker, widely regarded as the most powerful political broker within the Siaya Assembly, is now seen as the ultimate deciding factor in whether the impeachment bid survives or collapses before reaching the floor of the House.
