Everything changed so suddenly that I first blamed myself. One week, my boss was praising my work and trusting me with important responsibilities. The next, he could barely look at me. He criticized things he had previously approved, questioned my loyalty, and started excluding me from meetings I had always attended.
I kept asking myself what I had done wrong, but no mistake made sense. The tension grew fast.
