The Jubilee Party has appointed former Narok North MP Hon. Moitalel Ole Kenta as its new Secretary General, marking a significant milestone in the party’s reorganisation as it gears up for the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a press brief on Friday, January 23, 2026, Ole Kenta said he was deeply honoured by the confidence bestowed upon him and vowed to steer Jubilee into a new era anchored on unity, inclusivity and internal democracy.
“I accept this responsibility with humility, gratitude and full awareness of the duty it carries to the party, its members and the democratic values we stand for,” Ole Kenta said.
He paid tribute to Jubilee Party Leader H.E. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, Kenya’s 4th President, Deputy Party Leader and presidential candidate Dr. Fred Matiang’i, the party’s deputy leaders, the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the wider Jubilee membership for entrusting him with the powerful office.
Ole Kenta noted that Jubilee has played a defining role in Kenya’s democratic journey and now carries the responsibility of renewing that legacy for the future.
“Jubilee is a national party founded on the principles of unity, inclusivity, democracy and social justice. These values are firmly anchored in our Party Constitution and must guide how we organize, lead and make decisions,” he said.
He pledged to strengthen internal democracy, enforce discipline and promote fairness and accountability across party structures.
Describing the Secretary General’s office as the “engine room” of the party, Ole Kenta said his focus will be on coordinating party structures, supporting grassroots branches and ensuring Jubilee operates as a strong, credible and effective political institution nationwide.
“The responsibility I undertake today is to ensure Jubilee functions as a disciplined, democratic and well-organized party,” he said.
In a strong message of inclusion, Ole Kenta reaffirmed Jubilee’s commitment to women and youth, whom he described as the backbone and energy of Kenya’s democracy.
“Women are not just supporters of political movements; they are leaders and organizers,” he said, promising meaningful representation of women in leadership and decision-making at all levels.
Turning to the youth, Ole Kenta said Jubilee is ready to open up real space, real voice and real influence for young people within the party.
“Your ideas, creativity and leadership are essential to the renewal of our party and our country,” he added.
Ole Kenta’s appointment is widely seen as part of Jubilee’s broader strategy to consolidate its structures and position itself strongly ahead of the 2027 elections under the banner #FOM2027 and #MbelePamoja.
