Governance and Leadership expert Joshua Odhiambo Nyamori has said the Luo nation will support the pact between Raila Amollo Odinga and President Dr William Samoei Ruto without any apologies.
Speaking at breakfast television show Nyamori said President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto and the former second Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya Hon Raila Amolo Odinga, decided to put their egos aside as they signed a Memorandum of Understanding that brought together president Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA) and Hon Raila’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party.
The move was however criticized by many Kenyans and leaders in ODM who felt that this was a betrayal by Hon Raila.
For instance, Governor James Orengo and ODM Secretary General Senator Edwin Sifuna have publicly declared that they will never support the broad based government.
However, some leaders from Nyanza have come to the rescue of Hon Raila as they applause him for joining the government, claiming that it is now time for the region to also benefit from the government.
Nyamori said the clarion call in Nyanza is that they have reached a holy place since they have been out of government for over 50 years.
He went ahead and added that they have made a conscious decision to support the broad-based government, and they will not entertain anyone who undermines Dr Ruto’s leadership.
