This cutting-edge facility is poised to revolutionize medical services, bringing specialized care closer to home and easing overcrowding – but it’s still awaiting crucial restocking from the national government to go fully operational by year’s end.
The project, a cornerstone of Orengo’s Nyalore manifesto, marks a pivotal milestone in transforming Siaya’s healthcare landscape. Groundbreaking began in September 2022 with a Sh68 million investment, and construction has progressed steadily, with updates showing significant advancements by late 2024. The complex features four advanced surgical theatres, a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) unit, a fully equipped pharmacy, and other essential components designed to handle complex procedures locally.
