Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol Denge has conveyed heartfelt Eid Mubarak wishes to Muslims across the country, marking the end of Ramadan following the sighting of the new moon that signals the beginning of the celebrations.

In his message, Dr. Oduol called for unity, compassion, and reflection, noting that Eid is not only a time of celebration but also an opportunity to strengthen social bonds and extend support to the less fortunate. He emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence and inclusivity as Kenya joins the global Muslim community in observing the holiday.

The Deputy Governor’s message comes at a time when he has maintained an active presence both within county affairs and the broader political space. He has recently participated in key engagements under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party, including a joint parliamentary meeting held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre and attended by national leaders among them President William Ruto.

Back in Siaya, Dr. Oduol has been quietly engaging communities across the county, with recent visits to areas such as Sigomere, Bondo, and Yala drawing warm receptions from residents. The engagements, largely focused on listening to wananchi and local development concerns, reflect his continued connection to grassroots issues.

The DG has roundly called for sobriety and accomodation, especially among Siaya gubernatorial aspirants, as political temperatures rise ahead of the 2027 polls.

Oduol’s political journey has previously been marked by strong showings, including his victory over Oburu Oginga in the 2013 ODM nominations and a closely contested gubernatorial race against former Governor Cornel Rasanga Amoth, which was ultimately settled through legal and tribunal processes.

As he balances public service with broader political engagement, the Deputy Governor continues to underscore his commitment to good governance, accountability, and the fight against corruption.

His Eid message, delivered at a moment of reflection and renewal, reinforces a broader call for unity, hope, and shared national purpose.
