The Siaya Bondo Water and Sanitation Company (SIBOWASCO) has achieved several milestones in the past financial year chief among them capacity-building and training on Non-Revenue Water (NRW) mitigation run in conjunction with the Water Service Providers Association (WASPA).
While addressing attendees at this year’s annual general meeting (AGM), Managing Director, Isaiah Adipo said that another notable achievement was facilitating the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) training on corruption and integrity, and capacity strengthening for 50 youths from Ugunja, Sega, Ukwala, and Mauna through the M-Water Program.
CPA Isaiah Adipo highlighted the Olago Revamping Water Supply Project, designed to enhance water distribution, reliability, and quality as among ongoing key projects.
The 2024/2025 Financial Year Report aligned with Agenda 2 of Orengo administrations 9-Point Agenda, which focuses on access to water and water resources. SIBOWASCO has committed to providing reliable water and sanitation services to Siaya residents.

Adipo also noted that the company has strengthened its partnership with the Nyalore administration, including through initiatives such as the Abura Solarization Project, officially handed over to contractors on May 16, 2025, and the Yala Turbines Project.
In a detailed report the MD noted that service delivery initiatives by the water service provider included water trucking and exhauster services, alongside innovative projects to enhance reliable water services and customer satisfaction. He noted that the company runs a customer satisfaction survey using GIS and GOSOFT meters.
The Lake Victoria South Water Services Board (LVSWSB) outlined projects to ensure customer satisfaction and reliable water services within the water company and department.
Speaking at today’s function Siaya Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo who was the Chief Guest emphasized on the need for SIBOWASCO to prioritize expanding reliable water supply and sanitation services to ensure customer satisfaction.
Three days ago Governor Orengo appeared before the Senate County Public Investment and Special Funds Committee, chaired by Senator Osotsi, to address important audit queries, one among them being why SIBOWASCO continuously makes losses.
Today the management and employees collectively affirmed their commitment to addressing water service delivery challenges in alignment with the company’s core mandate, vision, mission, and values.
Present was the County Secretary Mr. Joseph Ogutu, County Executive Committee Member for Environment, Water, Irrigation, Climate Change, and Natural Resources Prof. Jacqueline Oduol, Chief Officer in charge of Governance, Administration and ICT Mr. Walter Okelo, representatives from the Office of the Auditor General led by Mr. David Mutunga and Mr. Kennedy Ongoi.

Also present were SIBOWASCO’s Board of Directors led by the Chairman Mr. Stephen Oyucho, Mr. Jeremiah Oteng from the Lake Victoria South Water Services Board (LVSWSB), Members of County Assembly Hon. David Ragen (Central Alego) and Hon. William Kinyanyi (Yala Township), and SIBOWASCO’s core management team.
