Villagers at Sagam in Gem Constituency of Siaya County who woke up Friday morning to the shocking scenario of human body parts strewn in different locations have now identified the victim of the gruesome murder as a Form Two student at a local secondary school.
It is believed the student fell victim to ritualists who murdered and decapitated her before placing body parts in different locations. The Marenyo sub-Location Assistant Chief Michael Otieno reported early Friday that two human arms were found inside a bar at the Sagam Trading Center in Sagam village.
Another limb related to the same body would turn up behind the abode of a resident in Kachola village.
Police were alerted and the Officer Commanding Yala Police Station in the presence of his counterpart from Sinaga Police Post arrived at the scene and cordoned it off to allow investigations.
The incident occured barely two months since a Form Four student in Mindhine village, within the same Marenyo sub-location was defiled and murdered by unknown assailants.
Villagers claimed that the Friday morning discovery was reminiscent of a ritual murder with body parts being found together with herbal condiments.
For some yet-to-be-established reason locals have blamed the spike in insecurity on the political class.
Details surrounding the murder are yet-to-be-made-public as police work closely with medics at the Yala sub-County Hospital where the body parts are preserved while investigations continue.
Meanwhile, Gem Constituency Member of National Assembly, Elisha Odhiambo Akuba addressed the challenges Kenyans face from a national perspective.
“The challenges we face at the moment require that we breed more unity as the political class,” said Akuba, adding “We must hear all voices and call our young people to the table and hear them as a matter of priority. Politicians like Rigathi Gachagua who continue to cultivate ethnic and tribal politics must be called out. Our intelligence agencies must also be spared from political rhetoric and attacks as they guard our sovereignty as a country.”
