NAIROBI, Kenya – August 6, 2025
President William Ruto has constituted a five-member committee tasked with overseeing the implementation of the 10-point National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report, signaling renewed commitment to key political and governance reforms.
The committee, which will operate under the Executive Office of the President, is expected to fast-track policy and legislative frameworks necessary to actualize the recommendations agreed upon by both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio coalitions during the bipartisan talks.
Speaking during the announcement at State House Nairobi, President Ruto reiterated that the NADCO report reflects the “spirit of national unity and consensus-building” and must be fully implemented to address pressing political, economic, and electoral challenges.
“The committee will ensure the report does not gather dust but becomes a living document that shapes the next chapter of Kenya’s democratic journey,” he said.
While the names of the five committee members were not immediately disclosed, sources indicate that the team will include seasoned technocrats and legal experts drawn from various arms of government to guarantee impartiality and efficiency.
Among the key issues addressed in the NADCO report are electoral justice, the cost of living, boundaries delimitation, strengthening of independent institutions, and inclusivity in national appointments.
The establishment of the committee comes amid growing pressure from civil society and political stakeholders who have accused both government and opposition leaders of dragging their feet on implementing the report’s resolutions.
Observers say the move could help ease political tensions and pave the way for broader reforms ahead of the 2027 general election.
